The Indianapolis break trip will be held the Monday-Friday of break, just a little over an hour away from Purdue’s campus. Students will spend the week exploring the historic neighborhoods of Indianapolis, while learning directly from community members about how issues of segregation and structural injustice shaped their lives.
In partnership with the Kheprw Institute (KI), participants and local leaders will explore the ways that college students can immerse themselves in new communities in meaningful and productive ways. KI works with national and local neighborhood/community organizations and individuals to set directions and goals for quality of life and to implement grassroots solutions to community challenges. Issues addressed by Ki include:
